So after storm Ophelia blew through, we (Glenn Ferguson and me) set off up the road to Linnhe Marine.
We got to Shard around 15:30 and got a lift out to the boat with Davie. Mince and potatoes for tea and a whisky disaster
later, lights out at 21:30
Wednesday 18th October 2017
Weather seems settled, wind forecast for Easterly F3 or F4. Said farewell to the team, then set off through the channel heading down to Loch Nell.
Departed Linnhe Marine around 11:00. Once past Appin Point there was enough wind to pop out the jib and sail for an hour or so pointing at Dustaffinage
once it came in view. Rounded the point and entered Loch Nell. Moored up to the guest buoy, and went ashore to ask Magnus for a lift back to the car.
Once back at the boat storage site the wind died down and seeing the hoist in place, set off for the lift out. All went well and minutes later Shard was ashore.
Thanks to Linnhe Marine for all their hospitality this season, thanks to Magnus and John(?) the estate manager at Loch Nell estates for the lift out and thanks Glenn for your assistance.
Sails still to come off and a diesel to winterise, but that's it for the 2017 season.
